Setting Up Your RSVP Questions

Collect the info you need from guests, no back-and-forth required.

Your Guest Website comes with a set of default RSVP questions, and you can add your own on top of them. This article walks through where to manage them, what's built in by default, and how to add custom questions of your own.

Getting Started

RSVP questions come in two flavors: the ones built into every Guest Website by default, and any custom ones you add on top.

Where to Find RSVP Questions

Once your Guest Website is live, head to the Manage Guest Experience section.

You'll see a set of default questions ready to go, plus the option to create your own.

Note: If your event uses ticketing instead of RSVPs, guests register through the ticketing flow and these RSVP questions won't apply. Learn more about ticketed events.

Default RSVP Questions

These are the built-in questions you'll find by default:

  • Email address (always required, not shown in list)

  • First and last name (always required, not shown in list)

  • Any dietary preferences?

  • How can we contact you?

  • What's your shirt size?

  • Any special accommodation requests or needs?

  • When are you checking in and out?

  • Add travel information:

    • Arrival and departure dates and times

    • Flight numbers

Note: Any of these (except name and email) can be toggled on or off depending on your needs. Questions are optional unless you mark them as required.

AI Text Messenger & Phone Verification

Heads up: "How can we contact you?" and the AI Text Messenger: This question collects a guest's phone number, and it's also how we verify that number for the AI Text Messenger. If you want to use the AI Text Messenger for an event, keep this question enabled and in its current form — turning it off or changing it removes the verification we're required to have in place before enabling automated texting.

When AI Text Messenger is enabled, a guest opt-in question automatically appears right after this one, so guests can consent to receiving text updates. You can turn off the AI Text Messenger entirely, or just turn off this opt-in question on its own, without affecting your other RSVP questions.

Unfortunately, default questions cannot be edited or customized at this time.

Adding Custom Questions

You can also create your own questions to collect exactly what your team needs. Just select Add Question and choose you question type.

Choose from the following answer formats:

  • Short answer

  • Single choice

  • Multiple choice

  • Date picker

  • Date and time picker

  • File upload

Heads up: If you add new questions after guests have already RSVP'd, they'll receive an email prompting them to fill out the additional info.

Note: You may see this pop-up before inviting any guests. That's expected. As the organizer, you might also receive an email prompting you to answer the new question. This gives you a quick preview of the guest experience when updates are made.

TL;DR

  • Manage RSVP questions from Manage Guest Experience on your Guest Website

  • Default questions (except name/email) can be toggled on/off and marked required

  • Keep "How can we contact you?" as-is if you're using the AI Text Messenger — it handles required phone verification

  • Enabling AI Text Messenger adds a guest opt-in question right after it; turn off the messenger or just the opt-in question independently

  • Add custom questions in six formats; guests are notified by email if new questions are added after they've RSVP'd
