How to control who can access your event site

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Every BoomPop Guest Website is private by default. That means it can’t be found through search engines or accessed by anyone who doesn’t have the direct link. You’re always in control of who sees your event details.

Privacy Options

Depending on your privacy needs, you can choose from three access settings:

Anyone with the link (Default)

By default, your event site is only accessible to people who have the direct link. It won't show up in search results, and there’s no public directory where it can be found.

This is the easiest option if you're sharing the site widely (e.g., in Slack, via email, or in a calendar invite).

Only people with a company email domain

You can limit access to guests with email addresses from a specific domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com). Guests can be invited using any method and they'll be asked to verify their email when accessing the site.

Only specific invited guests

For the highest level of control, you can restrict access to only the email addresses you explicitly invite. This means:

  • All guests must be invited via bulk invite, so their email is added to the approved list.

  • The site will only be accessible to those exact emails.

How to Update Your Privacy Settings

To change who can access your Guest Website:

Go to the Guest Management tab in your event dashboard. In the Managing Guest Website section, click the “Anyone with link” button in the upper right corner.

A pop-up will appear—scroll to the bottom and select the access option that works best for your event:

  • Anyone with the link

  • [Your Company Name] only

  • Restricted (Only specific invited guests)

Your selection will save automatically, and the new privacy setting will take effect immediately.

What your guests will see

When the privacy feature is enabled, guests will see a verification screen before viewing the event website. You can use the screenshot below to preview the experience:
