BoomPop now integrates with Slack for Self Service/EMP (Event Management Platform) customers— that is, customers managing events with BoomPop, company-wide. This integration allows for seamless guest messaging, survey distribution, and AI-powered event support directly within Slack.
Capabilities
With the Slack integration, you can:
Send messages to Slack channels directly from BoomPop.
Send surveys to Slack and allow attendees to respond without leaving the platform. Responses sync automatically into BoomPop.
Use BoomPop AI in Slack to ask questions about your event and get threaded responses directly in Slack.
How It Works
Connect Your Slack Account
The first time you try to send a message or survey and haven’t synced your account yet, you’ll be prompted to log into Slack.
Approve the connection to allow BoomPop and Slack to share data. Once authorized, return to your event page to start messaging or sending surveys.
If you are an admin for your account, you can also connect your company's Slack channel in the Settings tab of your Event Hub under Integrations.
A Slack account only needs to be authorized once for the entire organization to use moving forward.
Messaging Guests via Slack
Go to Guest Management and open the Communication tab. Click Message Guests.
Choose Slack from the options (Text, Email, Slack).
Then, select the Slack channel you would like to send the message to. Note: This integration only works with public channels. Make sure your desired channel is set to public or create a new public channel for your team’s event planning.
Compose your message:
Add a title and body text
Use formatting like bold, italics, or bullet points
Include attachments (photos, documents, etc.)
Preview your message before sending. When you're ready, send the message — it will appear in the Slack channel and come from BoomPop AI.
In the selected channel, the message will come from BoomPop AI and appear formatted as seen below.
Sending Surveys via Slack
Create your survey in BoomPop as usual. Go to Send and select either option.
Choose Slack as the delivery method.
Then, select the Slack channel and write your accompanying message.
Preview your message and send the survey. Responses will sync directly back into BoomPop.
In the selected channel, the message will come from BoomPop AI and appear formatted as seen below.
Guests can then take the survey entirely in Slack, with their answers syncing to the survey page in the platform.
Tip: Keep your survey titles brief when sending via Slack, as the character limit is short.
Messaging BoomPop AI in Slack
In a Slack channel, type @BoomPop AI followed by your question. BoomPop AI will react with an eyes emoji to indicate it’s processing your question.
The response will appear in the thread of your message. You can continue the conversation by asking follow-up questions in the same thread.
