We recently announced that BoomPop has joined Navan (NASDAQ: NAVN), bringing our event planning and venue sourcing capabilities together with Navan's global travel platform.
You can read the full announcement in Navan's press release, and we've put together an FAQ below covering what this means for our hotel partners.
What does this acquisition mean for our relationship with BoomPop?
Your relationship with BoomPop remains intact. The BoomPop team, including your primary contacts, will continue managing your partnership through the integration. This acquisition strengthens our ability to serve you with greater scale, technology, and resources. Business continues as usual.
Who is Navan, and why did BoomPop join them?
Navan (NASDAQ: NAVN) is a leading corporate travel and expense management platform. BoomPop is joining Navan to bring together best-in-class group and events capabilities with Navan's global travel infrastructure. Together, we will offer our hotel partners a broader book of business spanning individual transient travel, group bookings, and corporate events.
Will our existing contracts and agreements still be honored?
Yes. All existing BoomPop contracts remain in effect. We are conducting a full contract review as part of the integration process and will notify you proactively if any terms require renegotiation or consent. You do not need to take any action at this time.
Will the commission rates we pay BoomPop change?
There are no immediate changes to commission rates. As we harmonize programs across BoomPop and Navan, we will communicate any changes well in advance. Our goal is a best-of-both approach – we expect the combined leverage to benefit preferred partners.
Will IATA accreditation and hotel commission settlements be affected?
Commission settlements will not be interrupted. BoomPop holds IATA accreditation which enables hotels to remit commissions to us through the standard settlement process. We are managing the transfer of those credentials to Navan as part of the integration. Our priority is ensuring zero disruption to your existing settlement process. If anything changes that affects how you remit commissions to us, we will reach out directly before it takes effect.
Who will be my point of contact going forward?
Your existing BoomPop contacts remain your primary point of contact. As we integrate teams, we will keep you informed of any ownership changes. There will always be a dedicated sourcing team member assigned to your account – this will not change.
Will BoomPop's group and events sourcing continue?
Absolutely. Group and events sourcing is a core part of what BoomPop brings to Navan. The combined platform will continue and grow BoomPop's group, events, and experiences business. Hotel partners with strong group and M&E capabilities will see increased opportunity.
What happens to the Partner Hub and how we communicate?
The Partner Hub will continue to operate during the integration. We are evaluating the long-term roadmap for a combined supplier portal. In the near term, expect continued communication through the Partner Hub newsletter and existing channels. We will notify you of any platform changes well in advance.
Will our GSO contacts change?
GSO contact decisions are ultimately yours to make. As the hotel chain or brand, you determine which GSO manages the relationship. Our role is to ensure you have full visibility into the combined BoomPop and Navan book of business so you can direct that accordingly. We will proactively share our account profile and volume data to help inform that decision.
How will RFPs and sourcing requests be handled?
The BoomPop sourcing process remains unchanged in the near term. There will always be a member of our sourcing team involved in every RFP — this is a core part of how we operate and will not change post-acquisition. Over time, we aim to make the combined process simpler, not more complex.
Will there be a combined preferred supplier program?
Yes. A unified preferred supplier program is part of our integration roadmap. We are reviewing both BoomPop's and Navan's existing preferred programs and plan to launch a combined program reflecting our combined booking volume. Details will be communicated when ready.
Does this mean more platforms and complexity for our team?
We hear you, and simplicity is a priority. One of our integration goals is to reduce platform complexity for hotel partners, not increase it. We are actively working on a unified supplier experience and will communicate a clear roadmap. In the short term, nothing changes.
What is the timeline for changes that affect us?
Most partner-facing changes will be phased over 3 to 6 months post-close. We will proactively communicate any changes before they take effect. Our Day 1 priority is stability – your business with BoomPop continues uninterrupted from day one.
Who should I contact if I have questions?
Reach out to your existing BoomPop contact. For general questions about the integration, you can also contact [email protected]. We will also be hosting a partner webinar in the coming weeks where you can ask questions directly.
Thank you for your continued partnership!
